Where will this information be used?
The information contained in this online database will be published in both the Hospital’s online provider directory, located at www.marthajefferson.org, as well as in printed pictorial directories that are distributed to physician practices, other healthcare providers and to consumers.

Why are we required to provide information on “special clinical interests and types of patients seen?”
For the first time, we are printing a version of the pictorial directory exclusively for physicians, practice managers and other healthcare professionals who help patients make decisions about seeking medical care. This new Referral Directory will enhance our ability to keep the medical community informed of the clinical capabilities and expertise of Martha Jefferson’s medical staff. In addition to a photo, practice name, address, phone and fax number, the Referral Directory will include board certification and the description you provide regarding special clinical interests and types of patients seen. What kind of directory will be sent to consumers?
The general consumer (including patients) will be given a book that is similar to the one printed in years past. It will contain a photo, practice name, address and phone number.

When will the information be published?
The information contained in the online database is what is currently displayed in the Hospital’s on-line provider directory. Changes you make to the information will be posted immediately. The printed pictorial directories will be printed and distributed in December 2005.

Why do I have to provide information on the practice and providers separately?
Because some practices have multiple providers, we have divided the Online Update into two sections:

When must my changes be completed?
You can come back to any of these records as many times as necessary between August 8-22, 2005. To ensure that changes you make are saved, you must click on the “Save and continue” button at the bottom of the page each time you make a change to a record.
